Our Mull Head History and Nature Walk is a clifftop walk at the Mull Head exploring the history and wildlife of this Nature Reserve in Deerness. Our walk takes us along the impressive Gloup and on to the Brough of Deerness before continuing along the coastal path. This coastline is rich in a variety of habitats supporting wildflower and plant species, such as angelica, spring squill, grass of parnassus and bird's-foot trefoil. The cliffs are home to seabirds such as fulmars, shags, cormorants, guillemots and puffins and we might see seals and cetaceans too. We will also explore this headland's Pictish, Viking and modern history and folklore. 3.5 - 4 hour walk Max distance 6.5km/4 miles Moderate walking on a grassy, boggy at places clifftop path. Exposed path with chain to the Brough of Deerness. Meet at the Gloup car park, Deerness. Grid reference HY589078 Bring a packed lunch, a snack and something to drink. Appropriate footwear should be worn.

This will be decided 14 days before the tour date. In the event that Summit to Sea Adventures needs to cancel the tour or trip you will be refunded in full. If you need to cancel your booking, Summit to Sea Adventures requires notification in writing (confirmed email is also acceptable). The effective date of cancellation will be the date which we receive your notification. Please refer to the T&Cs for cancellation fee details. We can give you the option to move your tour to another date (subject to availability).
