Embark on a relaxed, small-group, two-day walking weekend exploring the breathtaking West coast of Mainland Orkney from the town of Stromness to the Birsay. You will see stunning views of sea stacks, geos, and diverse wildlife and flora as you traverse the clifftops. It's common to see seabirds such as gannets, guillemots, cormorants and puffins along this coastline, as well as seals. Your adventure includes expert local guiding and rich interpretation of Orkney's nature, geology, history and stories, as well as a private tour of Skara Brae Neolithic village followed by an afternoon treat of local produce at the on-site café. Moderate walk on grassy clifftop paths, often boggy or muddy in places. Ascent: 326m Day 1: 19km/12 miles. Day 2: 12.5km to 15km/7.5 miles to 9 miles Waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear essential.
