Our Ward Hill adventure is a 3 hour long walk across wild moorland to the summit of Ward Hill (268m) in Orphir, the highest hill in the Mainland of Orkney. This walk offers spectacular views of Hoy and Graemsay, as well as of much of the Orkney Mainland. The aim of this walk is a longer walk along quiet uphill paths in wild moorland while keeping an eye and ear out for wildlife, fungi and flora, with some history and folklore interwoven. And of course the space to chat, connect, laugh, meet new people and share experiences whatever the weather! Difficulty: Moderate walk on uphill tracks and paths. Terrain: stony hill tracks and paths, grassy paths which are uneven and can be wet and muddy. Distance: max 4.2miles/6.7km Ascent: 150m What to bring: water, snacks, appropriate footwear and waterproofs, an extra warm layer of clothing. Cancellation The tour requires a minimum of 4 participants to go ahead. Summit to Sea Adventures reserves the right to cancel if the tour is under subscribed. This will be decided up to 1 day before the tour date. In the event that Summit to Sea Adventures needs to cancel the tour or trip you will be refunded in full. If you need to cancel your booking, Summit to Sea Adventures requires notification in writing (confirmed email is also acceptable). The effective date of cancellation will be the date which we receive your notification. Please refer to the T&Cs for cancellation fee details. We can give you the option to move your tour to another date (subject to availability).
